Worn Slap Out is a group of friends in Saint Augustine, Florida who find inspiration to rattle their crumbling chassis on a weekly jaunt down the gravelly roads of classic country music. From the earliest 1920's recordings of the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers, to Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Chuck Berry, and Merle Haggard, and to recent songs destined to become tomorrow's standards, Worn Slap Out currently covers over 150 tunes from a variety of artists. No spring chickens, they are content to excuse some rough musical edges in the interest of having just as good a time playing together as they might have way back in the good old days when they were spry (even if they can't remember).
